Sobieski is chosen king

Hetman Jan Sobieski commands his forces in the Battle of Chocim (1673) and halts the invasion of Poland by Turkish troops. The nobility appreciates his grand victories on battlefields and his leadership skills and chooses him king in the free election of 1674. Jan Sobieski is a well-educated man, a skilful diplomat and a brave soldier. He enjoys support of the French party.
